Campus Safety Officer

Responsibilities

• Complete safety and security assignments and conduct campus patrols to ensure a secure environment for students, faculty, staff, and visitors
• Respond to emergency and crisis incidents, including first responder calls and fire/security alarm responses
• Manage access control, perform after-hours property checks, and conduct routine building rounds
• Handle dispatching duties, transportation services, and the production of University Identification cards
• Support various university departments in their daily operations and maintain professional discretion with sensitive information

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Minimum of 1 year of experience in law enforcement, campus safety, or a university campus environment
• Valid driver's license and a clean driving record
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and remain standing for significant periods
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with radio communications
• Availability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays, as part of a 24/7 rotation

Preferred Qualifications

• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice or a related field
• Certifications in CPR, First Response, Mental Health First Aid, or OSHA
