Campus Safety Officer

Responsibilities

• Complete safety and security assignments and conduct regular campus and building patrols
• Respond to emergency, crisis, and first responder calls to ensure a secure environment
• Manage access control, after-hours property checks, and fire/security alarm responses
• Perform dispatching duties and provide transportation services as needed
• Assist with the production of University Identification cards and support other departmental operations
• Maintain professional conduct while handling sensitive and confidential information

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent (Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice preferred)
• Minimum of 1 year of experience in law enforcement, campus safety, or a university environment
• Valid driver’s license and a clean driving record
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and remain standing for significant periods
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with security/dispatch platforms
• Availability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays, as part of a 24/7 rotation
• Ability to obtain required certifications (CPR, First Response, etc.) within 3 months of hire
