Campus Safety Officer

Responsibilities

• Maintain security of persons and property through regular foot and vehicle patrols of campus buildings and grounds
• Respond to emergency calls, conduct preliminary investigations, and provide first-line emergency management
• Perform dispatch duties in the 24/7 Communications and Resource Center, including monitoring security cameras and alarms
• Receive and respond to emergency and non-emergency calls and dispatch security personnel as needed
• Enforce College rules and regulations and identify/remove unauthorized persons or vehicles
• Prepare detailed reports regarding investigations, complaints, and calls for service
• Coordinate with campus departments during emergencies and maintain accurate activity logs and key control

Requirements

• High school graduate
• 2-5 years of related security or safety experience
• Valid Driver’s License
• No prior criminal record
• Ability to qualify in CPR and First Aid
• Ability to obtain Guard Card Certification within 90 days of employment
• Ability to perform physical tasks including walking, standing, and lifting up to 50 lbs in various weather conditions
