Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care and focused assessments for students with minor illnesses, injuries, and other health concerns.
• Administer immunizations, medications, and perform CLIA-waived laboratory testing and venipuncture.
• Manage State of Illinois mandated immunization requirements and review student health records.
• Maintain accurate, professional, and ethical documentation in electronic medical records.
• Provide patient education regarding health promotion, disease prevention, and college health topics.
• Participate in infectious disease response and emergency preparedness training.
• Manage inventory of medical supplies and over-the-counter medications.
• Collaborate with the wellness center team to design and deliver public health programming and outreach.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing (BSN), or a commitment to pursue a BSN degree.
• Current Illinois licensure as a Professional Registered Nurse in good standing.
• Current BLS CPR certification.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs and experience using electronic medical records in a clinical setting.
• Strong critical thinking, prioritization, and multitasking skills.
• Ability to work independently and react quickly in emergency or crisis situations.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience in college health or working with adolescent/young adult populations.
• Minimum of three years of nursing experience, preferably in a fast-paced ambulatory or urgent care setting.
• Experience with vaccine administration and health promotion initiatives.
