Campus Internship - Analytical Chemistry

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement analytical methodologies for detecting adsorbable organic fluorine (AOF), extractable organic fluorine (EOF), total fluorine, and fluoride in complex industrial matrices.
• Utilize advanced analytical techniques including Ion Chromatography (IC), Combustion Ion Chromatography (C-IC), and Inductively Coupled Plasma Mass Spectrometry (ICP-MS).
• Focus on method optimization, validation, and the development of suitable sample preparation strategies.
• Work closely with the Non Routine Analytical team to support production sites with advanced analytical problem-solving.

Requirements

• Currently pursuing a Master's degree or equivalent in Analytical Chemistry, Chemistry, Environmental Chemistry, or a related discipline.
• Fluency in German and a good working knowledge of English.
• Basic knowledge of chromatographic and spectroscopic techniques (e.g., IC, HPLC, GC-MS).
• Practical experience in laboratory work, including sample preparation and chemical handling.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with complex matrix analysis.
• Knowledge of fluorine chemistry and trace-level detection of fluorinated compounds.
