About the role

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Camp Head Chef with food preparation and staff management
  • Collaborate with the Chef to create delicious meals with engaging presentations
  • Maintain a clean and sanitary kitchen and dining room
  • Wash kitchen utensils, equipment, and dishes
  • Help with unloading, inspecting, and storage of raw ingredients and supplies
  • Enforce sanitation and food safety standards per state and local regulations
  • Communicate regularly with management via calls, emails, and texts
  • Ensure compliance with all staff policies

Requirements

  • Ability to follow special dietary restrictions and allergen food preparation
  • Ability to lead a team while being receptive to direction
  • Personable, friendly, and approachable demeanor
  • Ability to stand for long periods (8+ hours)
  • Ability to lift and/or move objects up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to work in environments with extreme heat and loud noise

Preferred Qualifications

  • 2+ years of high volume commercial kitchen experience
  • Valid food safety handler and sanitation certification
  • Ability to pass background checks
