About the role
Responsibilities
- Set up workstations to prepare food and ingredients
- Prepare food using various equipment and monitor cooking processes
- Ensure great presentation by dressing dishes before service
- Maintain a clean and sanitary kitchen and dining room
- Assist with unloading, inspecting, and storage of raw ingredients and supplies
- Enforce sanitation and food safety standards per regulations
Requirements
- Ability to follow special dietary restrictions and allergen food preparation
- Ability to collaborate effectively with camp staff and management
- Personable, friendly, and approachable demeanor
- Positive and professional attitude
- Ability to stand for long periods (8+ hours) and lift up to 50 pounds
- Ability to work in environments with extreme heat and loud noise
Preferred Qualifications
- 2+ years of high volume commercial kitchen experience
- Experience using cutting tools, cookware, and bakeware
- Knowledge of various cooking procedures (grilling, baking, boiling, etc.)
- Valid food safety handler and sanitation certification
