About the role

Responsibilities

  • Set up workstations to prepare food and ingredients
  • Prepare food using various equipment and monitor cooking processes
  • Ensure great presentation by dressing dishes before service
  • Maintain a clean and sanitary kitchen and dining room
  • Assist with unloading, inspecting, and storage of raw ingredients and supplies
  • Enforce sanitation and food safety standards per regulations

Requirements

  • Ability to follow special dietary restrictions and allergen food preparation
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with camp staff and management
  • Personable, friendly, and approachable demeanor
  • Positive and professional attitude
  • Ability to stand for long periods (8+ hours) and lift up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to work in environments with extreme heat and loud noise

Preferred Qualifications

  • 2+ years of high volume commercial kitchen experience
  • Experience using cutting tools, cookware, and bakeware
  • Knowledge of various cooking procedures (grilling, baking, boiling, etc.)
  • Valid food safety handler and sanitation certification
