Camp Leader

Responsibilities

• Promote, facilitate, and evaluate developmentally appropriate programs for children aged 6-12
• Co-create and maintain an inclusive, respectful, and child-centered camp environment
• Establish trusting relationships with participants and their families
• Manage room set-up and teach food preparation skills to campers
• Complete administrative tasks including attendance, report writing, and file maintenance
• Provide one-on-one support and monitor the progress and needs of children
• Assist with emergencies and monitor program supply levels
• Participate in staff debriefing meetings and mandatory orientation training

Requirements

• Between 15-30 years of age (per Canada Summer Jobs program eligibility)
• Eligible to work in Canada (must meet specific program criteria regarding legal status)
• High school diploma
• First Aid certificate (or willingness to obtain)
• Food Safe Certification
• Ability to provide a satisfactory Criminal Background Check and Vulnerable Sector Check
• Experience working with children and knowledge of child development

Preferred Qualifications

• ECE / ECEA Certification
• Responsible Adult Certification
• Experience leading children through Vacation Bible School material
