About the role
Responsibilities
- Clean and stock park facilities, including restrooms and shower houses
- Assist campers with registration and payments through MyCounty Parks.com
- Communicate park rules, amenities, and local information to the public
- Perform routine maintenance on shelters, buildings, picnic tables, and grills
- Manage firewood sales during posted hours
- Maintain a clean registration booth and ensure park brochures are available
- Remove unburnt trash from fire rings and report maintenance issues to full-time staff
- Observe and report rule or law violations to Park Rangers
Requirements
- High School graduate or equivalent
- At least 18 years of age
- Valid Iowa driver's license
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
- Experience with money handling and maintaining cash logs
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Ability to operate computers, web portals, and electronic forms
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in customer service or public interaction
- Previous experience in park maintenance or custodial work
