Camp Host

Responsibilities

• Clean and stock park facilities, including restrooms and shower houses
• Assist campers with registration and payments through MyCounty Parks.com
• Communicate park rules, amenities, and local information to the public
• Perform routine maintenance on shelters, buildings, picnic tables, and grills
• Manage firewood sales during posted hours
• Maintain a clean registration booth and ensure park brochures are available
• Remove unburnt trash from fire rings and report maintenance issues to full-time staff
• Observe and report rule or law violations to Park Rangers

Requirements

• High School graduate or equivalent
• At least 18 years of age
• Valid Iowa driver's license
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
• Experience with money handling and maintaining cash logs
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
• Ability to operate computers, web portals, and electronic forms

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in customer service or public interaction
• Previous experience in park maintenance or custodial work
