About the Company

The mission of ASC is to provide the magic of overnight camp without the barrier of cost. Since 1928, ASC has provided free, fun-filled overnight camp programs for children at no cost to their families.

Responsibilities

• Create and document innovative, age-appropriate programming for camp sessions
• Oversee youth overnight camp operations, including programming, logistics, and safety
• Lead and coach a team of seasonal staff members
• Manage camp budgets, inventory, and procurement of supplies
• Drive camper enrollment through community outreach and engagement
• Ensure adherence to American Camp Association (ACA) standards and Texas Youth Camp License Rules
• Manage relationships with third-party vendors and community partners
• Oversee camp facilities, cleanliness, and general upkeep
• Lead responses to medical emergencies, severe weather, or facility issues

Requirements

• 4+ years of experience in camp leadership, site operations, or youth programming
• 2+ years of people leadership experience
• Ability to live onsite at camp in Central Texas (Austin or Marble Falls) when camp is in session
• Valid driver’s license and ability to pass a criminal background check
• Ability to acquire and maintain required certifications (Lifeguard, CPR/First Aid, etc.)
• Ability to maintain composure and work efficiently under pressure

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Education, Child Development, or Outdoor Recreation
• Knowledge of camp management systems (e.g., CampBrain)
• Conversational Spanish proficiency
