Camp Counsellor

Responsibilities

• Implement day-to-day summer day camp operations, including recreational games, crafts, and Bible lessons
• Supervise and support campers to ensure their safety, emotional wellness, and personal development
• Work cooperatively with the Business Manager, Community Services Coordinator, and Directors
• Participate in the Summer Day Camp mentoring program for staff and campers
• Maintain high standards of health and safety in compliance with OH&S Act and Regulations
• Assist with camp setup, cleanup, and other relevant duties as assigned
• Act in accordance with policies and procedures to ensure participant confidentiality and safety

Requirements

• Minimum Grade 9 education completed
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong leadership, planning, and organizational skills
• Ability to lift and move up to 29 lbs
• Ability to stand for long periods and perform physical tasks such as reaching, bending, and stooping
• Successful completion of applicable background checks and screenings

• Passion for building relationships with youth and children
• Ability to remain calm under pressure and solve problems effectively
• A servant-hearted attitude with a willingness to work as part of a team
