Camera and Optics Lead

Responsibilities

• Define Engineering Requirements Specification for camera and sensor lenses through simulation and DOEs
• Design and verify lens design through optical, thermal, and mechanical simulations
• Work with lens manufacturers to balance performance and cost via tolerance analysis
• Select and perform onsite auditing for lens suppliers
• Manage Asia camera assembly to meet specifications, timelines, and cost requirements
• Develop lens OQC and IQC metrology from NPI to volume production
• Develop data pipelines for lens and camera manufacturing to improve yield (Cp/Cpk)
• Automate data management for lens and camera databases
• Improve micro-optics performance using Zemax and thermal/mechanical simulation
• Own lens and camera reliability testing

Requirements

• Master's degree with 10 years of relevant experience
• Optical simulation experience using Zemax
• Understanding of camera modules and assembly processes
• Knowledge of lens design, temperature impacts, and material selection
• English communication capability
• Proven project management skills
• Strong documentation and teamwork abilities

Preferred Qualifications

• Ph.D. in Optical Engineering, Physics, or related field
• Experience with lens athermalization and sensitivity analysis
• Experience working with camera assembly houses and lens suppliers
• Familiarity with lens OQC/IQC and DOE concepts
• Knowledge of data automation and automated lens simulation pipelines
• Experience with failure analysis and corrective actions
• Familiarity with micro/macro lens active alignment
• Experience with IP67/IP69 camera design
