About the role
Responsibilities
- Serve patients by greeting them on the telephone, scheduling appointments, and maintaining records
- Act as the first touchpoint between the patient and the practice
- Perform registration for new patients and update information for established patients
- Manage high volume of inbound and outbound calls
- Resolve customer needs and handle upset or dissatisfied patients effectively
- Optimize provider time and treatment room utilization through efficient scheduling
- Respond to incoming Portal messages via Athena EMR system
- Process incoming referrals and perform outreach calls for appointments
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED required
- Minimum two years of experience in a medical or clinical office customer support role
- Experience with EMR and scheduling systems such as Athena, Greenway, or Phreesia
- Strong verbal communication and active listening skills
- Ability to multitask and manage time effectively
- Ability to travel occasionally during the work week
