About the role

Responsibilities

  • Answer inbound calls and respond to telephone inquiries or complaints using standard scripts and procedures
  • Meet call handling standards and service level agreements in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
  • Use multiple computerized systems simultaneously to research and resolve inquiries
  • Gather information, log all inbound calls, and communicate appropriate resolution options to callers
  • Assess caller needs and inform them about available services
  • De-escalate occasional irate callers with calm conflict resolution skills
  • Provide peer-to-peer training for incoming classes transitioning to the call center floor

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 1-2 years of experience in a call center environment
  • Ability to pass a background check and drug screen
  • Legal authorization to work in the United States
  • Ability to work onsite in Columbia, SC (this is not a remote position)
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Commitment to 100% attendance and punctuality
  • Ability to work overtime as needed
