Calibration Technician

Responsibilities

• Perform complex maintenance, testing, troubleshooting, calibration, and repair on analytical equipment and instruments for laboratory and manufacturing settings
• Prepare technical reports and conduct trend analysis on equipment and processes
• Follow calibration procedures and maintain detailed equipment files for all test and manufacturing tools
• Set up standards and special-purpose laboratory equipment to evaluate and calibrate other instruments
• Apply complex formulas to solve measurement and calibration problems
• Support engineers in assessing plans to uphold the precision and accuracy of measuring instruments
• Document investigation findings and assist in developing technically defensible calibration procedures
• Train fellow employees in the calibration department to facilitate cross-training
• Coordinate with vendors and manage purchase orders for externally calibrated items

Requirements

• Associate degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school
• 5 or more years of relevant experience in calibration or a related technical field
• Demonstrated judgment and initiative in problem resolution
• Ability to work effectively with minimal supervision
• Strong communication skills and high attention to detail

• Basic understanding of instrument capabilities, limitations, and factors affecting their use
