About the role
Responsibilities
- Perform complex maintenance, testing, troubleshooting, calibration, and repair on analytical equipment and instruments for laboratory and manufacturing settings
- Prepare technical reports and conduct trend analysis on equipment and processes
- Follow calibration procedures and maintain detailed equipment files for all test and manufacturing tools
- Set up standards and special-purpose laboratory equipment to evaluate and calibrate other instruments
- Apply complex formulas to solve measurement and calibration problems
- Support engineers in assessing plans to uphold the precision and accuracy of measuring instruments
- Document investigation findings and assist in developing technically defensible calibration procedures
- Train fellow employees in the calibration department to facilitate cross-training
- Coordinate with vendors and manage purchase orders for externally calibrated items
Requirements
- Associate degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school
- 5 or more years of relevant experience in calibration or a related technical field
- Demonstrated judgment and initiative in problem resolution
- Ability to work effectively with minimal supervision
- Strong communication skills and high attention to detail

- Basic understanding of instrument capabilities, limitations, and factors affecting their use
