Calibration and Metrology Quality Engineer

Responsibilities

• Lead calibration and metrology operations at the Advanced Manufacturing Facility to ensure measurement systems meet regulatory standards.
• Coordinate external calibration service providers and ensure vendor compliance with AS9100 and ISO 17025 requirements.
• Evaluate and lead investigations into out-of-tolerance conditions and perform necessary impact assessments.
• Lead internal and external audits related to calibration and quality systems.
• Serve as the subject matter expert for metrology, developing procedures and mentoring team members on measurement best practices.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, manufacturing, and QA teams to resolve calibration issues and implement quality control measures.
• Lead metrology development projects, including the design, implementation, and validation of new instrumentation and measurement methods.
• Support Measurement Systems Analysis (MSA) studies for problem-solving and new product launch qualifications.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree with 4+ years of related experience, OR a graduate degree with 2+ years of experience, OR 8+ years of related experience in lieu of a degree.
• Extensive experience in calibration, metrology, or measurement systems within a manufacturing environment.
• Knowledge of quality management systems such as ISO 9001 or AS9100.
• Strong understanding of calibration traceability, measurement uncertainty, and measurement system reliability.
• Valid driver's license.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience using Microsoft Power Platform tools (Power BI, Power Automate, SharePoint) for quality dashboards and automation.
• Hands-on experience with dimensional measurement equipment and calibration procedures.
• Project management experience or certifications such as PMP, Six Sigma (Green/Black Belt), or Lean.
• Experience maintaining calibrated asset inventory using management software like GageTrack.
