Cal Crew Leader

Responsibilities

• Manage a crew of up to 8 participants, including scheduling, time tracking, and personnel issues
• Serve as the primary driver for the crew passenger van and tow a 10-foot equipment trailer
• Provide daily technical and safety instructions, including conducting tailgate safety briefings
• Ensure all crew members utilize equipment properly and wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
• Maintain inventory of work van supplies and ensure the security of the vehicle daily
• Provide coaching and appropriate discipline in accordance with company policies
• Monitor crew hydration, breaks, and adherence to safety protocols in various environments
• Document work progress through written reports and photographs

Requirements

• Valid California driver's license with a clean driving record
• Ability to drive a passenger van and tow a trailer
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and carry landscaping tools (at least 20lbs)
• Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions (heat, cold, light rain)
• Strong written and oral communication skills
• Ability to maintain strong professional boundaries and work with emotional intelligence

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience working outdoors in landscaping, brush clearance, grounds maintenance, or environmental cleanup
