Cafeteria Worker

Responsibilities

• Assist in preparing food according to recipes and large quantity cooking methods
• Serve meal portions efficiently using adequate hand/eye coordination
• Maintain sanitation standards in the kitchen and serving areas
• Clean and wash cooking equipment, including ovens, mixers, and slicers
• Provide accurate counts of meals prepared and leftovers using basic arithmetic
• Assist in placing food in appropriate hot or cold serving pans
• Follow all oral and written instructions and attend required in-service training
• Maintain high standards of personal hygiene and professional appearance

Requirements

• Valid Texas Food Handlers Certificate
• One year of related experience in a food service environment
• Basic mathematics and arithmetic skills
• Physical dexterity to stand, walk, push, pull, and lift up to 30 lbs
• Ability to perform manual tasks such as sweeping, mopping, bending, and kneeling
• Personal transportation for travel between locations as needed
• Ability to communicate effectively in English
