Cafeteria Worker

Responsibilities

• Assist in preparing food according to specific recipes and large quantity methods
• Serve meal portions efficiently while maintaining high standards of presentation
• Maintain sanitation standards in the kitchen and serving areas
• Clean and wash cooking equipment, including ovens, mixers, and dishwashers
• Perform basic arithmetic to provide accurate counts of meals prepared and leftovers
• Maintain personal hygiene and a professional appearance
• Assist in maintaining a safe and healthy work environment
• Follow all oral and written instructions from supervisors

Requirements

• Valid Texas Food Handlers Certificate
• One year of related experience in food service or a similar role
• Knowledge of sanitation procedures and basic cooking methods
• Ability to use large and small kitchen equipment (e.g., electric slicers, mixers, steamers)
• Basic mathematics and arithmetic skills
• Adequate physical dexterity, hand/eye coordination, and the ability to lift up to 30 lbs
• Ability to stand, walk, push, pull, sweep, and mop for extended periods
• Personal transportation for potential assignment to different locations
• Basic knowledge of the English language
