Cafeteria Support Staff

Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve breakfast and lunch items according to written and verbal instructions
• Maintain clean, sanitary kitchen, serving, and dining areas during meal service
• Operate the point of sale system and accurately record meals served
• Monitor and record food and equipment temperatures per safety guidelines
• Set up and break down serving areas and cafeteria spaces
• Receive food deliveries and assist with stocking, rotating, and organizing inventory
• Provide courteous and respectful service to students, staff, and visitors

Requirements

• Education level necessary for reading and following written food menus and work schedules
• Basic ability to read and speak/understand English
• General knowledge of large-scale food preparation, cooking, and serving methods
• Knowledge of use and care of food preparation equipment
• Skill in using standardized and specialized kitchen utensils and equipment
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships
• Ability to maintain emotional control and work in a close, fast-paced environment
