Cafeteria Driver

Responsibilities

• Deliver refrigerated, dry, and prepared food items to schools and obtain authorized signatures for all deliveries.
• Transport and return cabinets, pans, utensils, and other equipment between schools and the Food Production Center.
• Perform daily vehicle inspections, including checking oil, battery, water, tires, and lighting to ensure safe operation.
• Verify shipment accuracy by counting, weighing, or measuring items against invoices and purchase orders.
• Load and unload delivery trucks manually and using mechanical equipment such as forklifts and pallet jacks.
• Maintain organized inventory by sorting and storing items according to established procedures.
• Assist the Child Nutrition maintenance department with tasks such as power washing and painting as needed.
• Support school cafeteria operations with food preparation and serving when required.

Requirements

• Valid Class C driver's license (must submit a copy with application).
• Valid Texas Food Handlers Certificate.
• Ability to safely operate large trucks or vans.
• Ability to operate mechanical equipment, including forklifts and pallet jacks.
• Ability to read supply requisitions and perform basic arithmetic.
• Ability to use hand tools and follow verbal and written instructions.
• High school graduate or GED equivalent preferred.
