CAD Technician - Electrical

Responsibilities

• Support the development of engineering designs using best practice details and bespoke solutions
• Provide BIM Level 2 support from documentation creation to validation and As Built Close Out
• Manage 3D CAD models within the electrical discipline
• Assist in project delivery from technical design to construction stage to ensure compliance with project standards
• Implement best practice and consistent processes by liaising with stakeholders and the supply chain
• Utilize Bentley ProjectWise with OpenBuilding Designer and MicroStation for detailed drawing creation
• Lead the production of high-quality design and detailed construction drawings for railway station projects
• Ensure accurate and timely information flow and adherence to data management standards
• Participate in quality assurance checks to ensure accuracy and detail
• Work closely with other disciplines to ensure 3D CAD models are integrated and coordinated

Requirements

• Minimum 3 years of experience as a BIM Technician in major infrastructure or transportation projects
• Experience in an engineering production environment
• Background in railway, transportation, or construction
• Experience delivering projects to UK BIM Standards (BS1192 and ISO 19650)
• Proficiency in Bentley software including ProjectWise, OpenBuilding Designer, and MicroStation
• Experience leading technical development of 3D CAD components from conceptual design to construction models
• Knowledge of UK design standards such as Network Rail, HS2, and TfL
• Experience working with BEPs, TIDP, MIDP, and MPDT
• Must have the right to work in the UK
