CAD Operator - Ld/Sr

Responsibilities

• Update substation, collection system, electrical controls, and transmission electrical drawings in coordination with Operations.
• Manage the engineering drawings library database in SharePoint and enforce document control.
• Assist with Arc Flash model and study reviews and model updates.
• Perform electrical substation design following NEC and IEEE standards.
• Work from red-line drawings, sketches, scanned images, and OEM specifications to create or modify 2D drawings.
• Participate in regional and project staff meetings.

Requirements

• Associates degree (or two-year equivalent) in Computer Drafting, CAD, Engineering Technology, or Electrical Engineering.
• Minimum of 5 years of electrical layout experience (power distribution, schematic/ladder diagrams, transmission, or substation design).
• Demonstrable technical proficiency on CAD platforms.
• Experience with three-phase and DC electrical systems, substations, and transmission systems.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Project).
• Ability to self-check work for accuracy and completeness.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in power plant or wind plant operations and maintenance.
• Experience with Arc Flash Hazard Analysis and EasyPower/ArcPro software.
• Qualified Electrical Worker (QEW) qualifications.
• Engineering technician experience.
• Experience using Microsoft SharePoint.
