CAD Designer II

Responsibilities

• Create complex 2D and 3D CAD drawings, layouts, and schematics for mechanical systems and slitting components
• Lead the design and development of mechanical systems, ensuring they meet functional requirements and manufacturing efficiency
• Perform prototyping and simulations to evaluate design performance and optimize results
• Select appropriate materials and manufacturing processes based on cost, feasibility, and performance
• Review and modify existing designs based on feedback, new requirements, or identified improvements
• Provide mentorship and technical guidance to Level One CAD Designers
• Conduct quality assurance checks on drawings and layouts to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations
• Travel up to 10% to customer sites for measurements, installations, commissioning, and onsite training

Requirements

• 2–5 years of related experience in CAD design
• Associate's degree or Technical Certification in CAD Drafting & Design
• Proficiency in Autodesk Inventor 2020 or newer
• Proficiency in Solidworks
• Strong working knowledge of Windows Operating System and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access)
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical documentation and professional journals
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
