Cable Technician

Responsibilities

• Engage in the construction, termination, repair, splicing, and maintenance of aerial, underground, and submarine cable and related equipment
• Perform physical tasks including climbing poles using ladders and spurs
• Work effectively aloft and in confined spaces
• Travel to various locations in all weather conditions, including potential travel via helicopter or fixed-wing aircraft to remote locations

Requirements

• Completion of an electrical/electronic engineering technology program or a university science degree in engineering
• OR 2 years of continuous related field work experience as a technician plus an IT Certificate/Diploma or completion of a Certified Linesman course
• Valid Driver's License
• Ability to lift heavy equipment and work aloft
• Good colour vision
• Strong problem-solving, communication, and customer service skills
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word)
