Cable Jointer (HV)

Responsibilities

• Carry out jointing and termination of HV, MV, and LV power cables following approved procedures and manufacturer recommendations
• Perform installation of straight-through joints, outdoor/indoor terminations, and cable sealing ends
• Handle XLPE, PVC, and armored/unarmored power cables and associated accessories
• Prepare cable routes, dressing, glanding, lugging, ferruling, and termination works
• Conduct insulation resistance checks, continuity tests, and support commissioning activities
• Ensure proper heat shrink, cold shrink, or resin jointing techniques are applied as per standards
• Read and interpret single line diagrams (SLD), cable schedules, and electrical drawings
• Coordinate with electrical engineers, supervisors, and QA/QC teams for inspections and testing
• Follow strict HSE procedures, including PTW systems and LOTO requirements

Requirements

• ITI or Diploma in Electrical Engineering or equivalent technical qualification
• 5+ years of experience as an HV Cable Jointer specifically within Oil & Gas projects
• Strong knowledge of cable jointing kits such as Raychem, Nexans, Prysmian, or 3M
• Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and SLDs
• Proven ability to work independently under site conditions and meet project deadlines

Preferred Qualifications

• Valid safety certifications
• Experience working in dynamic, high-pressure project environments
