Cable Jointer (HV)

Responsibilities

• Carry out jointing and termination of HV / MV / LV power cables
• Perform installation of straight-through joints, outdoor/indoor terminations, and cable sealing ends
• Handle XLPE, PVC, armored/unarmored power cables and associated accessories
• Prepare cable routes, cable dressing, glanding, lugging, ferruling, and termination works
• Conduct insulation resistance checks, continuity tests, and support commissioning activities
• Ensure proper heat shrink, cold shrink, or resin jointing techniques are applied
• Read and interpret single line diagrams (SLD), cable schedules, and electrical drawings
• Coordinate with electrical engineers, supervisors, and QA/QC teams
• Follow strict HSE procedures, PTW system, and LOTO requirements
• Troubleshoot cable faults and support maintenance activities

Requirements

• ITI / Diploma in Electrical Engineering or equivalent technical qualification
• 5+ years of experience as an HV Cable Jointer in Oil & Gas projects
• Strong knowledge of cable jointing kits (Raychem, Nexans, Prysmian, 3M, or equivalent)
• Ability to work independently under site conditions and project deadlines
• Valid safety certifications preferred
