Cable Construction Manager

Responsibilities

• Supervise and deliver key packages of construction projects
• Assist in the production of construction plans and coordination of the Engineering support team
• Procure construction materials and specialist subcontracts
• Support the Site Manager and Project Manager while leading core delivery teams
• Ensure technical solutions on site align with Engineering requirements and management systems
• Manage and coordinate street works permits
• Manage customer relationships during tender and delivery
• Lead Safety Shield Initiatives and drive continuous improvement across SHESQ

Requirements

• Minimum ISCED Level 5 qualification or equivalent experience
• Experience managing sites and field-based staff on cable, substation, or underground cabling projects
• Technical expertise in civil, cable, or electrical aspects of cabling projects
• Experience in cable installation, jointing, and testing
• Previous experience working for distribution network operators
• Experience managing sub-contractors and excavation works
• SSSTS (Site Supervision Safety Training Scheme) accreditation
• CSCS card
• Safety qualification such as IOSH or NEBOSH
• Full UK Driving License
• Right to Work in the UK

Preferred Qualifications

• Knowledge of NEC3 Form of Contract
• Knowledge of New Roads and Street Works Act 1991 (NRSWA)
• CITB SMSTS (Site Management Safety Training Scheme)
• SSE System Authorisations
