C++ Software Developer

Responsibilities

• Develop object-oriented software packages and applications using C++ in a Linux environment
• Participate in all phases of product development including analysis, design, and implementation
• Create documentation for users on new and existing products and processes
• Provide occasional technical support and field development/integration with outside models
• Build and support production releases of desktop applications used globally
• (SES.2 level) Lead simulation model functional areas and provide SME technical support

Requirements

• Ability to secure and maintain a U.S. DOE Q-level security clearance (requires U.S. citizenship)
• BS in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics or equivalent knowledge
• Experience designing, implementing, and debugging production-quality C++ applications
• Proficiency with modern C++ standards and object-oriented design
• Experience developing applications in a Linux/UNIX environment
• Strong verbal and written communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

• MS in Computer Science, Engineering, or Mathematics
• Experience with event-based software simulations
• Experience developing complex client/server software suites
• Experience developing object-oriented GUIs using OpenGL
• Knowledge of plane and solid geometry and vector analysis
• Knowledge of military operations
