C++ ArduPilot Engineer

Responsibilities

• Develop, improve, and maintain UAV software (fixed-wing, multicopters) based on ArduPilot
• Integrate cameras and other sensors, working with streaming data
• Develop and maintain SITL/HITL systems
• Collaborate closely with computer vision and GNC (guidance, navigation, control) teams
• Perform C++ development in Linux user-space for companion computers
• Support communication protocols between companion computers and flight controllers (MavLink or others)
• Profile and optimize performance, memory, and system interaction
• Analyze logs and troubleshoot implemented algorithms

Requirements

• 4+ years of commercial C++ development experience
• Minimum 1 year of experience with ArduPilot or PX4
• Strong understanding of OOP, STL, and C++ memory models
• Experience with multithreading, synchronization, and low-level interfaces
• Experience with profiling and optimization (CPU, memory, latency)
• Understanding of design patterns and computer programming principles

Preferred Qualifications

• Understanding of stabilization, mode switching, and failsafe logic
• Experience with embedded systems and resource-constrained environments
• Experience with computer vision algorithms (OpenCV, custom pipelines)
• Knowledge of control theory and stabilization algorithms (PID controllers)
• Understanding of sensor principles and sensor fusion (Kalman filter)
• Proficiency in Python or Lua for scripting and prototyping
• Strong mathematical background (linear algebra, vector geometry)
• Experience with git, CMake, gdb, and perf
• Experience in Military Tech projects
• Ability to operate quadcopters
