Buyer/Purchasing Associate

Responsibilities

• Purchase parts to supply distribution centers and various technician locations
• Prepare and place purchase orders and warehouse transfer orders
• Communicate order confirmations and shipment tracking numbers to the organization
• Source new products and identify alternate vendors to reduce costs and improve service
• Analyze pricing to ensure competitive structures and achieve volume discounts
• Manage inventory levels and place stock orders to replenish distribution centers
• Expedite orders as necessary to ensure timely deliveries and track exceptions
• Manage the vendor return process and maintain vendor scorecards
• Utilize ERP and MRP systems to manage master data and part number creation
• Collaborate with technicians and the dispatch team to support emergency orders

Requirements

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in purchasing or inventory management
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel
• Experience with ERP/MRP systems and Visual Manufacturing or similar software
• Strong knowledge of inventory control management and VMI strategy
• Familiarity with Kanban methods
• Excellent written and oral communication skills for vendor and technician interaction
• Strong analytical, mathematical, and problem-solving abilities

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field
