Buyer/Purchasing Associate

Responsibilities

• Purchase parts to supply distribution centers and various technician locations
• Prepare and place purchase orders and warehouse transfer orders
• Source new products and identify alternate vendors to reduce costs and improve service
• Analyze pricing to ensure competitive structures and achieve volume discounts
• Manage inventory levels and place stock orders to replenish distribution centers
• Use ERP and MRP systems to manage master data, create part numbers, and track orders
• Expedite orders as necessary and track exceptions to recommend continuous improvement
• Manage the vendor return process and maintain vendor scorecards regarding quality defects
• Communicate daily with technicians and the dispatch team regarding order status and emergency needs
• Apply Kanban methods and VMI strategies to optimize inventory control

Requirements

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in purchasing or inventory management
• Proficiency with ERP/MRP systems and MS Office (Word and Excel)
• Strong vendor sourcing and negotiation skills
• Familiarity with inventory control management, Kanban methods, and VMI strategies
• Excellent written and oral communication skills for interacting with technicians and vendors
• Strong analytical and mathematical skills, including the ability to calculate discounts and proportions
• Ability to multi-task and solve practical problems in a fast-paced environment

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field
