Buyer/Planner

Responsibilities

• Optimize supply chain effectiveness through strategic planning and inventory control
• Manage kanban implementation and utilization to ensure optimum inventory levels
• Execute material planning for new product launches and engineering change notices
• Minimize carrying costs and transportation charges while ensuring on-time deliveries
• Investigate and resolve material shortages and supply chain disruptions
• Manage assigned commodities, including cycle counts, obsolete inventory, and supplier performance evaluations
• Support the NPD stage gate process under the direction of the Commodity Manager

Requirements

• High school graduate with a minimum of 2 years of college education
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in materials, purchasing, or a related industrial field
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints
• Strong communication skills, both oral and written

Preferred Qualifications

• College degree in a relevant field
• Basic understanding of machine capabilities, shop processes, and fabrication
