Buyer/Planner

Responsibilities

• Ensure efficient processing of direct materials purchase requisitions within a manufacturing environment.
• Manage assigned suppliers and parts to ensure timely delivery for manufacturing and spare parts requirements.
• Maintain effective collaboration with suppliers to prevent manufacturing disruptions and escalate issues as needed.
• Manage supplier part lead times, safety stock, expedites, and Supplier Change Notifications (SCNs).
• Collaborate with Planning, Quality, Engineering, and Manufacturing teams to resolve material quality issues.
• Execute purchase orders in SAP to optimize pricing tiers, minimum order quantities, and supplier capacity plans.
• Coordinate with Quality and Warehousing on RMA return to vendor actions, including repair and refurbishment.
• Drive key performance indicators (KPIs) including on-time delivery, inventory turnover, and requisition conversion.
• Maintain procurement business system data integrity and act as a champion for suppliers using Ariba B2B solutions.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree and 3-5 years of related experience (or a Master’s degree with 2 years of experience).
• Proficiency with SAP ECC MM module and MRP knowledge.
• Thorough knowledge of direct procurement, vendor relations, and inventory management.
• Experience managing global suppliers and stakeholders.
• Familiarity with GMP, product specifications, and incoming inspection procedures.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and negotiating skills.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Outlook.

Preferred Qualifications

• Knowledge of Ariba SCC.
• Experience working with Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) systems.
• Experience with quality management systems such as Reliance or ETQ.
