Responsibilities

• Execute key purchasing functions including vendor and contract analysis, process ownership, and project management
• Perform system administration and data analysis to ensure prudent stewardship of University resources
• Assist internal departments in utilizing vendor contracts and exploring new supplier relationships
• Provide support regarding procurement policies, procedures, and best methods to maintain financial controls
• Utilize and support University systems including eProcurement, online travel booking, and reporting tools
• Oversee the daily work of student employees as needed

Requirements

• Associate degree in business or 2 years of purchasing experience
• Knowledge of procurement fundamentals (principles of purchasing, value analysis, materials analysis)
• Effective communication and negotiation skills
• Proven excellent customer service skills and ability to work in a team environment
• Strong attention to detail
• U.S. citizenship is required due to federal research contract requirements

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business, accounting, finance, or a related field
• 2+ years of purchasing-related experience
• Experience with Federal Government purchasing (FARs, DFARs, and OMB guidance)
• Professional certifications in procurement (CPP, CPM, CPPM, CPSM, etc.)
• Experience with eProcurement and/or ERP systems
