Buyer

Responsibilities

• Manage end-to-end procurement of commodities including castings, steel, hydraulics, and electrical components
• Analyze production schedules to determine appropriate order quantities and timing
• Manage orders for high-activity SKUs based on production demand and supplier lead times
• Review and adjust safety stock levels monthly using material transaction data
• Coordinate with suppliers to align due dates and obtain purchase order acknowledgments
• Follow up daily on past due orders and expedite shipments to meet production demands
• Manage kanban renewals, manual releases, and outside processing services like plating and heat treating
• Coordinate return goods authorizations (RGA/RMA) and warranty returns
• Act as the primary point of contact for supplier discrepancies and cross-functional communication

Requirements

• Proven experience in procurement, supply chain, or inventory control within a manufacturing environment
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience working with ERP systems
• Strong analytical and organizational skills with high attention to detail
• Experience with forecasting and reporting tools
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for supplier collaboration

Preferred Qualifications

• Familiarity with commodities such as castings, forgings, steel, and hydraulic components
• Knowledge of kanban systems and outside processing coordination
