Buyer

Responsibilities

• Order, research, and release materials, services, and supplies for projects
• Monitor and analyze inventory through the procurement lifecycle
• Perform cycle counts and audits for the location or region
• Review open purchase orders, shortage reports, and price variances
• Negotiate with vendors to reduce costs, improve freight economies, and secure favorable payment terms
• Resolve supplier issues regarding delivery, quality, specifications, and cost
• Monitor supplier performance and contract effectiveness
• Assist in finding and developing new suppliers to expand the supply base
• Coordinate with sales and project managers to minimize inventory value and maximize cash flow
• Handle RGA (returned goods authorization) materials promptly
• Participate in physical inventories

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree preferred or minimum of one year related experience/training
• Experience with ERP or equivalent systems preferred
• Strong oral and written communication skills
• Ability to operate computers and productivity machinery
• Excellent conflict resolution and diplomatic skills
• Ability to work under varying degrees of workplace stress
