Buyer

Responsibilities

• Execute day-to-day procurement activities to ensure on-time deliveries and optimal inventory levels
• Independently purchase a wide array of inventory items using ERP systems
• Monitor and improve supplier performance regarding quality, cost, delivery, and lead time
• Resolve pricing and receiving discrepancies with vendors in coordination with accounts payable
• Create and maintain standard work processes for all procurement activities
• Manage purchased inventory using PFEP (Plan for Every Part) to ensure correct safety stocks
• Participate in physical inventory counts and manage ticket control

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in business, supply chain, logistics, quantitative fields, or equivalent work experience
• 3+ years of purchasing experience in a manufacturing environment
• Proficiency with ERP systems, MS Excel, and the MS Office Suite
• Ability to read engineering blueprints and understand manufacturing processes
• Strong communication, negotiation, and analytical skills
• Proficiency in Material Requirements Planning (MRP) systems

Preferred Qualifications

• Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing concepts
• APICS/CPM/CPIM/CSCP or equivalent professional certification
