Buyer II

Responsibilities

• Initiate and monitor open purchase orders to ensure timely receipt and maintain inventory target levels
• Negotiate pricing, delivery, and supplier selection
• Ensure high-level performance of subcontract suppliers based on negotiated contracts
• Support development activities through direct purchases of raw materials and components for prototypes and launches
• Provide support for engineering change orders, non-conformances, and accounting discrepancies
• Implement procurement strategies such as supplier consolidation, kanban, and VMI programs
• Manage inventory levels and availability to meet build and launch schedules
• Act as a liaison between suppliers and internal departments like R&D, Quality, and Regulatory
• Assist with the return to vendor (RTV) process and reconciliation

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree (BS/BA)
• 3+ years of experience in a related field, preferably in medical devices
• Working knowledge of MRP software
• Proven procurement, project management, and negotiation skills
• Strong analytical skills in forecasting and production needs
• Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access, Outlook, Visio)
• Ability to work independently and lead cross-functional projects
