About the role
Responsibilities
- Plan, negotiate, and purchase components to support manufacturing
- Manage supplier relationships and maximize supplier performance
- Identify and lead initiatives to reduce cost and increase service
- Assess risk and proactively resolve potential supply continuity issues
- Work with Engineering, Quality, Production, Sales, and Warehouse to optimize supply chain
- Plan and place purchase orders with appropriate lead times
- Expedite orders and resolve inventory or invoicing discrepancies
- Identify, evaluate, and integrate new suppliers and technologies
Requirements
- BA/BS or equivalent work experience
- 3+ years of experience in a purchasing or supply chain role
- Experience with Supplier Managed Inventory Contracts
- Previous experience in a manufacturing environment
- Strong Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Ability to analyze and make decisions based on large amounts of data
- Strong problem-solving, organization, and communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of lean principles
- Proficiency in Syteline MRP system
