About the role
Responsibilities
- Execute purchase orders by evaluating MRP suggestions, processing requisitions, and scheduling deliveries to ensure on-time arrival.
- Monitor inventory levels to prevent stockouts while minimizing obsolete, slow-moving, and excess inventory.
- Maintain ERP/MRP parameters including lead times, safety stock, and sourcing assignments to align with strategic objectives.
- Manage supplier relations by resolving day-to-day issues regarding delivery delays, pricing discrepancies, and minor quality concerns.
- Negotiate routine price increases and secure competitive pricing to drive best cost solutions.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Quality and Engineering, to manage material changes and technical quality issues.
- Implement and manage supply chain programs such as Kanban, Warehouse Distribution Models, and VMI.
Requirements
- Associates of Applied Science Degree and 2-3 years of direct tactical procurement experience in a manufacturing environment (or equivalent experience).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, specifically Excel.
- Thorough knowledge of MRP & MPS planning systems and principles.
- Strong understanding of supply chain management and change management.
- Ability to work onsite 5 days per week and navigate a production floor environment.
- Strong interpersonal communication and negotiation skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in a related field.
- Advanced Excel skills, including proficiency with pivot tables and VLOOKUPs.
- Experience with ERP systems, specifically Oracle.
- Basic understanding of lean manufacturing, assembly processes, machining, and metal fabrication.
