Buyer

Responsibilities

• Develop a cohesive sportswear range reflecting brand strategy and commercial needs
• Partner with Design to shape product direction and alignment with divisional strategy
• Deliver department KPIs to drive margin and profit in partnership with Merchandising
• Use sales and trend data to anticipate the needs of the 20-something customer
• Trade effectively by identifying range gaps and managing risks
• Maintain in-depth knowledge of planning and trading documents
• Build and leverage relationships with internal teams and external suppliers
• Lead and develop a team of Assistant Buyers and Buying Assistants
• For Branded roles: Develop brand portfolio and source contemporary brand mixes

Requirements

• Significant experience as a Junior Buyer or Buyer in a fast-paced global retailer
• Proven ability to drive department success through creative and commercial thinking
• Strong awareness of current fashion trends and retail market conditions
• Highly developed negotiation and influencing skills
• Commercial mindset with ability to use data and insights for decision making
• In-depth knowledge of planning and trading documents
• Strong prioritization and systems skills, including MS Office and trading systems
