Business Systems Architect – Finance (D365 FO)

Responsibilities

• Lead the design, development, and implementation of innovative financial solutions within the Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations (D365 FO) platform.
• Conduct fit/gap analyses to identify customization needs and develop detailed design specifications.
• Partner with finance stakeholders to assess, refine, and automate key processes in General Ledger, AP, AR, Cash Management, Fixed Assets, and Project Accounting.
• Identify opportunities to embed AI, machine learning, and intelligent automation using Microsoft Power Platform and adjacent technologies.
• Oversee the full lifecycle of finance-related projects, from requirement gathering to deployment and post-implementation support.
• Act as a trusted advisor to finance leadership, providing insights into system capabilities and emerging ERP trends.
• Collaborate with internal audit and data teams to ensure the accuracy, integrity, and security of financial reporting and dashboards.
• Provide training, documentation, and mentorship to functional analysis teams and end-users.

Requirements

• Extensive hands-on experience with Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations (D365 FO).
• Deep understanding of accounting principles (GAAP/IFRS) and financial processes.
• Proven experience designing and implementing electronic reporting solutions using Financial Reporter.
• Strong project management skills with the ability to manage complex timelines and stakeholders.
• Experience with system integration between D365 FO and other enterprise applications or legacy platforms.
• Demonstrated ability to solve complex business challenges through analytical problem-solving.
• Excellent communication skills for collaborating with both technical and non-technical leadership.

Preferred Qualifications

• D365 certifications in Finance or other relevant modules.
• Experience with Microsoft Copilot, Azure services, Microsoft Fabric, and modern AI technologies.
• Familiarity with Agile, Scrum, or Scaled Agile methodologies and tools like Azure DevOps or Jira.
