Business Systems Architect – Finance (D365 FO)

Responsibilities

• Lead the design, development, and implementation of innovative financial solutions within the Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations (D365 FO) platform.
• Conduct fit/gap analyses to identify areas for customization and develop detailed design specifications.
• Partner with finance stakeholders to assess, refine, and automate key processes in General Ledger, AP, AR, Cash Management, Fixed Assets, and Project Accounting.
• Identify opportunities to embed AI, machine learning, and intelligent automation within Microsoft Dynamics 365 and Power Platform.
• Oversee the full lifecycle of finance-related projects, from requirement gathering to deployment and post-implementation support.
• Act as a trusted advisor to finance leadership, providing insights into system capabilities and emerging ERP trends.
• Collaborate with internal audit and data teams to ensure the accuracy, integrity, and security of financial reporting and dashboards.
• Provide training, documentation, and mentorship to functional analysis teams and end-users.

Requirements

• Extensive hands-on experience with Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations (D365 FO).
• Deep understanding of accounting principles, financial processes, and related D365 modules.
• Experience designing and implementing electronic reporting solutions using Financial Reporter.
• Proven ability to manage complex projects and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to streamline workflows and resolve business challenges.
• Experience integrating D365 FO with other enterprise applications and legacy platforms.
• Experience evaluating or implementing AI-enabled business solutions or intelligent workflow automation.

Preferred Qualifications

• D365 certifications in Finance or other relevant modules.
• Familiarity with Agile, Scrum, or Scaled Agile methodologies.
• Proficiency with tools such as Azure DevOps, Jira, and SharePoint.
• Knowledge of Microsoft’s broader technology stack, including Power Platform, Azure services, and Microsoft Fabric.
