Business Specialist

Responsibilities

• Contribute to the development of the annual department budget
• Monitor and analyze all revenues for Athletics and report crucial numbers
• Maintain a comprehensive database of deposit history adhering to PCI and Cash Handling guidelines
• Handle accounting, administrative, and reporting items related to Rutgers University Foundation funds
• Prepare monthly gift assessment entries and reports for restricted and endowment funds
• Prepare and submit Ticket Office/Business Office deposits via wire transfer, credit card, and check/cash
• Oversee general accounting and Procurement (P2P) functions, serving as the primary contact for the Football program
• Manage vendor relations, purchase orders, invoices, and credit card payments for the Football program
• Make budgetary decisions up to certain internal thresholds

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Two years of experience in a relevant accounting or business operations role
• Strong computer, oral, and written communication skills
• Working knowledge of accounting and basic financial management systems

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior experience in an athletic business operation environment
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and the full Microsoft Office suite
• Experience with Oracle or other ERP systems
• Experience with Procurement systems
