About the role

Responsibilities

  • Act as first-level triage for inbound ebook and audiobook issues, including metadata investigation and content processing failures
  • Identify and troubleshoot HTML and CSS issues within epub files
  • Review and analyze recurring issues to provide recommendations to the Business Operations Analyst
  • Maintain process documentation related to ebooks and audiobooks
  • Support the team with ad-hoc projects, including research into digital publishing standards
  • Assist in testing ebook and audiobook performance within the Kobo ecosystem

Requirements

  • Post-secondary education with a focus on publishing, digital media, or related book industry experience
  • General understanding of industry standards including ISBNs, ONIX files, and epub formats
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (including VLOOKUP, concatenating data, and pivot tables)
  • Strong research, organizational, and communication skills
  • Familiarity with the Kobo ecosystem, including apps and eReader devices
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously

Preferred Qualifications

  • Specific technical knowledge of ebooks, audiobooks, and/or .epubs
  • Experience working with HTML, CSS, XML, or Zendesk
  • Fluency in a second language
