Business Manager, Private Sales

Responsibilities

• Partner with relationship managers to drive revenue via P&L and pipeline management
• Oversee consignments from negotiation through to final settlement
• Prepare budget planning and develop financial models to support various revenue streams
• Translate financial results and KPIs into operational recommendations
• Manage private sale exhibition calendars and financial planning for EMEA shows
• Partner with legal teams on contract negotiations including consignment and vendor agreements
• Research potential additional revenue streams for long-term growth strategy
• Review and approve sale costs and business travel expenses

Requirements

• Degree level education (MBA or postgraduate business qualification preferred)
• Post-qualification business experience, ideally in financial or business support roles
• Strong math and numeracy skills with deep understanding of financial terminology
• Understanding of the art world and experience in an international auction house preferred
• Excellent communication skills for delivering financial commentary to senior management
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel with ability to create complex formulas
• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
• Fluent in English; additional European languages are an advantage
