Business Manager

Responsibilities

• Manage salaried group leaders in implementing business processes within production operations
• Coach, train, develop, and evaluate employees to ensure high performance
• Maintain awareness of quality standards and communicate department goals to solve quality issues
• Build and maintain strong working relationships with employees, union representatives, and management
• Administer National and Local Agreements between General Motors and the UAW
• Promote safe work practices and achieve objectives for ergonomics, health, safety, and housekeeping
• Achieve production schedules and product requirements using lean manufacturing and synchronous principles
• Implement systems to prevent the reoccurrence of known manufacturing issues

Requirements

• 3 years of experience working in an Automotive Assembly Plant
• Leadership or management experience (UAW, Salaried, or Skilled Trades)
• Knowledge of continuous improvement processes (CIP)
• Ability to rotate between all three shifts
• Ability to work overtime, including weekends and holidays

Preferred Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in an Automotive Assembly Plant (OEM)
• Knowledge of GM Global Manufacturing System (GMS)
• Experience within General Assembly
• Experience applying quality processes to support BIQ
• Bachelor’s Degree
