Business Manager - Chassis/Final

Responsibilities

• Lead operational strategy and execution for General Assembly to ensure production goals are met.
• Oversee daily operations, including manpower planning, cost control, and resource allocation.
• Champion safety and quality by driving objectives for ergonomics, health, safety, and housekeeping.
• Implement lean manufacturing principles and Global Manufacturing Systems (GMS) processes to improve throughput and reduce variation.
• Monitor KPIs and lead initiatives for continuous improvement and root cause analysis.
• Provide leadership, coaching, and mentorship to Group Leaders, Team Leaders, and production teams.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, maintenance, quality, and HR departments.
• Administer National and Local Agreements between General Motors and the UAW.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in manufacturing or a related field.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience.
• Working knowledge of safety policies and absolutes (e.g., lockout, ESWP).
• Proven experience leading teams and managing complex operations.
• Strong project management, analytical, and organizational skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Ability to work varied shifts, overtime, and respond to changing priorities.

Preferred Qualifications

• 3 years of specific General Assembly experience.
• Demonstrated ability to implement Global Manufacturing Systems (GMS) principles.
• Strategic thinker with a hands-on approach to problem-solving.
• Data-driven mindset with a commitment to operational excellence.
