Business Litigation Attorney

Responsibilities

• Manage a diverse caseload of business and commercial litigation matters from pre-suit investigation through trial and appeal
• Draft, review, and argue pleadings, motions, briefs, discovery requests/responses, and settlement agreements
• Conduct legal research and develop litigation strategy for complex commercial disputes
• Handle all phases of discovery, including depositions, document review, witness preparation, and expert coordination
• Represent clients in court appearances, mediations, arbitrations, hearings, and settlement conferences
• Advise clients on litigation risks, business disputes, contract issues, and regulatory concerns
• Collaborate with partners and support staff to manage case progression
• Maintain strong client relationships through clear communication and strategic guidance
• Participate in trial preparation and courtroom support
• Contribute to business development and client retention initiatives

Requirements

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school
• Active license and good standing with the New Jersey Bar
• 5-10+ years of litigation experience, preferably in business/commercial litigation
• Experience with commercial disputes, breach of contract, or business torts preferred
• Strong legal research, writing, negotiation, and oral advocacy skills
• Ability to manage litigation matters independently
• Familiarity with litigation case management systems
• Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple deadlines
